The Geelong Area Multiple Birth Association aims to provide support for families of multiples however we are a volunteer organisation run by parents of multiples. Here are a few of our services:
Expectant Parent Information Sessions
The association holds information sessions for expectant couples to provide advice on a variety of topics with regard to multiple births. Our information sessions are informal get-togethers to introduce you to the club and the support that is available as well as tips and tricks to help navigate the world of multiples. It is also a great opportunity to meet and talk to other expectant parents. These sessions are run on a needs basis, so email to express your interest.
There are a selection of books specific to multiple births and raising multiples available from the Waurn Ponds Library. Click here to see the collection at the Library website
Higher Order Multiples Contact
The Association is able to put you in contact with parents of higher order multiples (triplets, quadruplets and quintuplets). There is a Victorian contact and National contact, along with HOM specific Facebook groups.
Special Needs Register
This register records information on member families who have children who have a special need. It can help put you in contact with people and families who have a similar disability and may wish to exchange information or provide support. Examples of some special needs are heart disorders, asthma, vision, hearing, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, language and behaviour problems, intellectual and birth disabilities.
